Real British Sheepskin. Rare Breed. Darker, deeper and naturally striking.

Made from 100% real British rare breed sheepskin, this rug brings depth and richness that’s completely natural. Darker tones — from charcoal and peat through to soft browns and mottled greys — give each piece unique in a natural and subtle way.

No dye. No bleach. No shortcuts. Just the natural colours and textures of the fleece, tanned using traditional methods that respect the integrity of the wool.

The Rare Breed Dark Sheepskin Rug is one of a kind — in tone, in texture, and in feel. It adds weight. Adds warmth. Adds a bit of grounding.

Lanolin in the wool helps repel dirt and resist spills, which means it’s as practical as it is beautiful. Shake it out, brush it when needed, and let it settle in over time.

Perfect beside the bed, across a bench, or wherever you want that bit of extra comfort. A rug that looks good and gets better (when you fill memories and moments with it : )

  • 100% real British sheepskin

  • Natural dark tones – undyed and unbleached

  • Lanolin-rich wool resists dirt and spills

  • Approx. Measurements - Standard (95cm - 110cm) Extra Large (110cm - 130cm)*

  • Each rug is one of a kind

*Sheepskin rugs are measured from the fur side of the rug. The dimensions are approximate and can vary from rug to rug.

Our British rugs are tanned with the environment in mind and no chrome is used, so they’re not machine washable. Sheepskin is naturally dirt and bacteria resistant thanks to the lanolin in the wool, most just need a shake, a brush with a slicker dog brush or comb and an air on the line. To freshen them up further, a little dry shampoo works wonders, spray, let it dry, then brush it out.

For small stains or marks, try spot cleaning with a non-biological washing liquid and dry your rug naturally if it ever gets wet, not on a radiator or a tumble dryer.

It’s easier to keep on top of your sheepskin scare than catch up later, so try not to let them go too far without giving them some tlc.

So thankful!

I had already purchased several British Rarebreed Sheepskins while in Harrogate. I moved back to America and realized I would really like a six hide rug for my sitting room. I emailed Westmorland who was very responsive to my questions and I ordered a made to order rug and it is BEAUTIFUL! They perfectly matched the six hides in color, density, and softness. It is amazing!
